My life through Instagram

This is my first post of 2012!! Wow, I'm behind on my posts lol.

Somehow, somewhere I lost my camera and I can't seem to find it so outfit posts will be put on hold for a while. I was hoping that it would pop up eventually but no luck yet. So instead of an outfit post I figured I would share with you my life through instagram!

For those of you who don't know instagram is this awesome app that allows you to take pictures on your iphone (or ipad) and share them with your friends. Now, I don't have an iphone (I really really want one though) so I usually take pictures on my phone and send them to my ipad and then upload them from there. Anyway, here you go my life through instagram (in no particular order).

 My sister interns for the minor league basketball team here in town so she got us tickets to the game one night. You know how I feel about sports but this was actually not too bad. I took my younger sister and my niece and we had a blast. That is until the game started to drag on and then we left early.

 This is my sister's dog Titan. For Christmas we dressed him up as an elf and my dog as Santa. Oh the hilarity!!!

 For Christmas my sister got me this book on how to knit a slouchy beanie. I am obsessed with finishing mine, but it is such a slow process.

 I recently went up to Missouri to see my family and attend the funeral of my aunt. It was a sucky reason to go but it was good getting to see everyone. I really should go up there more.

 The boyfriend's Christmas tree. He wanted something manly so we went with blue and silver. I think it turned out well.

The boyfriend and I had date night the other night and went to the movies, this is my favorite part about the movies. I know I know, it's terrible for you but I can't help it. While most people have a sweet tooth I have a salty tooth. I could give up sweets in a minute but I love chips and popcorn!

Well there you go. You're all caught up on my life. I will hopefully be back soon (and will hopefully find my camera as well).

Pinterest Post: My Faith

Sorry this post gets a bit deep and will probably be a bit long.

I've been convicted of not living out my faith more. No, this is not some New Years Resolution. I've been thinking  about it for a while and I just decided that it is time to live what I believe. Especially on my blog. I am a Christian. I got saved when I was 10 years old and even went to a private Christian High School. I've always loved and respected God but somewhere during my high school and college years I sort of lost that awe factor that God has. I was very in tune with God during my junior year of high school but once I graduated and moved to Florida, I had a hard time finding a church that fed me and where I wanted to belong to like my one in Missouri. So I kind of lost that joy, where you wake up on Sunday and can't wait to go to church and where having a daily devotion isn't a chore but something you look forward to doing. I'm slowly getting back to that but I've still yet to find a church that makes me feel that way and encourages me to live out my faith (if you know of one let me know!).

Lately though, I've been reading a lot of great blogs from girls who are not ashamed to say that God is the love of their life and how in awe they are of Him and it's just made me want to get back to that place. It's funny how God can work on you. Sometimes he makes so huge gesture and you know it's him and sometimes there will be all these small signs and you just keep seeing him and then you just have an aha moment where you're like "Wow, I didn't notice at the time but God has been working this out the whole time!" Well, since 2012 is going to be a pretty big year (I guess this did turn into a New Years Resolution but I'm hoping this becomes so much more than that) both personally and spiritually I've decided that one thing I want to do is study the Proverbs 31 woman and try to become more like her and to fall so in love with Jesus that I won't need anything else. And lucky you, you all get to come along for the ride.

My Style: Christmas gifts

Hey everyone! How was your Christmas? I had such a good time spent with family and friends and someday to be family ;) Christmas Day was incredibly busy and I don't think I really got to appreciate it but I had Monday off and I spent part of the day at my godmothers (who was out of town) catching up on TV shows and just relaxing. Then I met up with the boyfriend and we went to see Sherlock Holmes which was pretty good, and then he cleaned both of our cars, he is such a good boyfriend.

I planned to take pics of everything I got for Christmas but I really don't think I will. I will show you one gift that literally blew me away. Ready?!

Yes! That is the Ipad 2!! I couldn't believe it, well actually I could because I kind of knew I was going to get it but still I love love love it! It was a gift from the boyfriend and I couldn't have been happier. I literally take it everywhere. Now, the next step is to get an Iphone (soon hopefully). 

Here is what I wore this week to work. Everyone in the office pretty much has not bothered to come in so it has been crazy quiet but I've enjoyed it. Too bad next week will be nuts. I'll just enjoy the time I have now. Anyway the scarf I'm wearing was actually given to me as a Christmas gift by my boss Bernadette and I absolutely LOVE IT! She has such great taste and the color is to die for. Check it out!

I'm slowly learning how to wear my hair but I also need to find a hairdresser here in Jacksonville that is not too expensive but knows what she is doing with black hair. Anyone know of somebody I can try? Please let me know. Until later then.

The Write Review: Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

YOU GUYS!! I usually wait about a week after seeing or reading something to post a review but I went and saw a new movie that I just have to talk about. The movie was the new Mission Impossible. It was SO GOOD! I was literally on the edge of my seat pretty much the whole movie. I didn't get up to go to the bathroom (which I almost always have to in a movie, ask the boyfriend) and I'm pretty sure I covered my eyes about 10 times because Tom Cruise was giving me a heart attack with all of his stunts. But I left the movie saying wow that was good.
Now, I am not a Tom Cruise fan. I mean I don't think he sucks and I actually like a few of his movies (Knight and Day was hilarious to me) but if he suddenly stopped acting one day I would be ok. But this movie actually made me appreciate him and if they were to do another one (which I'm sure they will ) I will probably go see it. Not only was Tom good but I thought everybody did a really good job. Even Paula Patton who usually gets on my nerves (she's gorgeous but I feel like she talks in a baby voice sometimes) did a great job.

Now can we talk about the non-stop action! I think I bit through all of my nails (now I have to start over again). Just superb! If you haven't seen it it is definitely a must see. I might have to go back and make the boyfriend see it with me (he had guys night so I went with my Mom and sister instead).

My Style: One of my fave colors this winter

This purple is one of my favorite colors this winter, that and a gold. LOVE! My hair, let me just say this is not what I wanted when I started this hair style. I seperated out my hair into little squares and coiled my hair into tiny little knots all over my head, thinking that it would make little ringlets (oh was I wrong)! It made ringlets but instead of them dropping they went out from my head like I'd been electrocuted, not cute. So I just started combing it back and bobby pinning it until I got this style. Like I said not what I expected but I actually don't mind it. In fact, I kind of like it. See what happens when you try something new?

Also, I should mention that I really like this skirt. It's tweed which I love and it has so many different colors that I can pretty much wear it with anything. I wanted to wear heels with this outfit but right before I left I remembered that I had to do some Christmas shopping and so I opted out of heels and chose flats instead. I also cleaned out my closet (making room for the new clothes I'm going to get for Christmas hopefully) and I found these flats in the back. I had completely forgotten about them.

On a side note, my room is beyond gross. I really don't spend much time at home (between work, friends, and the boyfriends) so I pretty much just sleep there and so I've decided every  day I will clean one spot in my room until it is back to the way I like it. So far I've done the closet and the desk behind me in these pictures. I actually smile when I look at my newly cleaned areas (and grimace when I see the rest lol). Ok well back to the grind stone.

Only 3 days until Christmas!!!!! I'm so hyped!

My Style: Christmas Time is Here

Man, I love Christmas! I love the music and the lights and the decorations and it's a great excuse to go shopping, I just think it's magical! As I've gotten older I've noticed that a lot of people just don't have the joy of Christmas anymore but I still love it and I hope that I don't ever lose it. This past weekend was the boyfriends work Christmas party, and while I didn't get any of us together I did get some shots of my outfit when I got home. It was a lot of fun and I met a lot of people that he works with. We even won a Frisbee game in the raffle lol! We are still not exactly sure how to play it but I'm sure we'll figure it out or regift it, whichever is easiest. Well, without further ado here is my outfit. I love this dress it has such a holiday look to it. I actually wore this dress last year for New Years and I just had to wear it again this year.

Don't you just love the silver?! So all in all it was a fun time and a good night. 

Only 4 more days until Christmas!!!! Get excited!!!
