My Style: Skirting the issue

Hey guys!

It's been a bit since I've been on here. I haven't been too busy but I've been on the go. Visiting friends and such. I've really been slacking on the gym too. And I have no excuse, I'm not too busy to go but I usually go at like 5am and work out for an hour then head home, shower, get dressed for work and leave but when you go to bed at 11 or midnight it's hard to get up at 4:45. I've been debating whether to cancel my membership and just work out at home (because we have treadmills and weights in the garage) but I know how that will go. I'll never work out given the choice. I really do not like it at all but I hate gaining weight more so I'm pretty much stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I wore this outfit last week and the skirt is something that I've had since like high school (I went to private school and the dress code was no pants for girls so I have tons of skirts from then) and I probably haven't worn it since then but I pulled it out and thought I'd try it since my workplace is pretty strict on dress code. The shirt I got from Forever 21. I loved the material when I saw it but the buttons on it are so weird it took me forever to even figure out how to button it. But I finally got it and I guess it looks ok. What do you think? Ok well, without further ado...

My pup managaed to make it into about 90% of my pics lol. I tried this new hairdo by pulling back the sides and tying it with a ribbon. It actually turned out pretty good. Tonight is out-of-sequence date night since the boyfriend ditched me to have boy's night with his friends on Tuesday (but it's ok because I went and hung out with my bestie and gossiped, my fave!)
Side note: We were required to get the flu shot yesterday at work and my arm is killing me right now. Seriously, it was fine yesterday but today is just awful. Note to self, opt out if possible next time. Yikes!

One more fay to Friday! Whoop!

My Style:Fall Fun!

I am so ready for fall. I'm serious, it is my favorite season. I love the colors of the leaves and the crisp weather (although in Florida we don't really get much crisp weather, steamy...yes, crisp...not so much). I chose this outfit in honor of fall. The shirt was what started this outfit. I found it at my thrift store for $1 and knew I had to have it. And then the rest of the outfit just fell into place. I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed wearing it.

I found this great headband from Forever21 that had feather coming down from it. And I really liked the feathers for this outfit because the colors were similar. So I took the chain with the feathers off the headband and instead put it on a bobby pin. And voila! I get the feathers without the headband. I guess you could call it a DIY but really I didn't do much.

Also, you know how I've been searching for a new bag? Well the search is over! I found this cute puppy on Sunday at Forever21. I wasn't planning to buy anything, I only went because my sister cannot shop alone (not sure why, I guess she just needs a second opinion) and we were about to leave when I saw it. It was gorgeous and I immediately fell in love. It slightly reminds me of a Birkin bag (except, you know, way cheaper) and so I marched right up to the counter and bought it and I haven't looked back yet. It literally goes with everything! I'm so obsessed with it. My only issue is that it's not very big, it's probably about a medium size bag and I'm used to huge ones so there is that but I knew that going in. I even asked at the register if it came any bigger lol (they looked at me crazy, then said no). But yes, if you are looking for a new purse as well I'm telling you now head to Forever21. Here are some shots of my new love.

Happy Thursday! It's almost the weekend yay. And I'm supposed to be doing something different this weekend. At least, that's what my fortune cookie said at lunch today. Oh, and in case you've been living under a rock and didn't know Happy National Noodle Day! I hope you got some noodles to celebrate like we did here at work lol.

My Style: She works hard for the money

Hey guys!

I'm trying to start consistently posting but it hasn't been going so well for me yet. I'm working on it. I've also been working hard at work trying to keep all my bosses happy. I think I've finally settled into a routine between work, boyfriend, working out and managing to spend time by myself and with friends. I'm usually exhausted by the end of the week but I like being busy (for now). I definitelly don't want to do this forever.

So the boyfriend and I have decided that we need to schedule time with each other because otherwise a whole week will go by and I realize that I haven't seen him once! So now every tuesday, come rain or shine, is date night. Now don't get me wrong date night can mean a number of things. It can mean going out to dinner, it can mean staying in and watching a movie, or it could be going to the movies. For instance, last week he took me to see Dolphin Tales (OMG such a good movie! but more on that later) and since today is Tuesday (yay) we plan to stay in, cook dinner, and watch Bridesmaids. We both haven't seen it yet and I hear it's HIGHlarious so why not?

But yeah this outfit is actually pretty old (from a couple of weeks ago) but I like it so I'm putting it up late. Also, I haven't taken any pics recently because of my crazy schedule so that's also why.

So I went to see two movies this past week. On Sunday I saw Abduction with my little sis (because Taylor Lautner is hott) and because it looked like it had a good plot. And then on Tuesday I saw Dolphin Tales (because wounded animals touch my heart).

Both movies were actually really good but Dolphin Tales totally stole my heart. If you haven't seen it yet, you must! And Abduction was good as well. Lots of action and suspense. So very different genres but they both did well and kept me entertained.

Oh by the way, Winter (don't you just love her nub!) is in Clearwater which is only a few hours away from me, so guess who is going to go see her??!! ME!!  And trust me I will definitely post pics :)

Pinterest Post: It's happened!

I have been hearing on Facebook, blogs and pretty much everywhere really that Pinterest is the new THING and that if you haven't tried it yet you just have to do so immediately. I asked someone about it and they said that it's basically a sight where you can look at photos and ideas people have and like them or "repin" them. In short, it sounded lame to me.
Well, the other day I was bored...I mean really bored so I decided to try the sight out and now, I'm hooked!! I mean it's so bad that I find time to pin things before bed, on my lunch break at work. It is so sad. But I just love it. The pictures, seeing what your friends like and are interested in, it's addicting. Here are some of the pics from my pinterest sight. And now I know why people say if you haven't tried it yet you must do so immediately! Happy Wednesday, we're halfway there!!

I'm so in love with this sight!

My Style: A New Chapter...

I've begun a new chapter in my life. I have a new job and a new outlook on life. I love having a reason to wake up and get dressed in the morning. It really does bring me inspiration. For the couple of months that I did not have a job I had absolutely no inspiration to get dressed just to sit around the house but now that I do I love going through my closet looking for interesting ways to wear things. Here is an outfit that I wore from this week at work. As an administrative assistant I mostly sit at a desk but I also work on a rather large campus so I sometimes have to walk to different buildings, so it's important to wear comfortable clothing, especially shoes. My first week working I wore these oxford shoes and they gave me blisters on both feet. It was so painful! But thankfully I recovered and am back to normal (mostly lol).

Here are some pics of one of the outfits I wore to work this week. I felt so preppy I almost wanted to throw out an "AS IF!" for good measure but being at work, I refrained. Enjoy!

Also, I am on the hunt for a new bag so keep a look out and let me know if you see anything good. I did find one that I a dying over but I'm just not sure it's in my price range. This is the bag, it's the Zara shopper tote and it is beyond perfect. Even fashionistas like Olivia Palermo are wearing them. Here are the pics. Yeah...go ahead and drool lol.

I love how it turns Olivia's casual outfit into a trendsetting one. And it might also have something to do with the gorgeous guy next to her lol.

My Style: One year ago I said yes...best decision I ever made

I recently celebrated my one year anniversary with my boyfriend and it was such a good night. We made reservations at this restaurant at TPC Sawgrass and when he got off work we headed there. The food was amazing!! And the atmosphere was great. We decided to go on our actual anniversary August 23 (yes I'm really late in putting these up) which was a Tuesday, but it worked out great because the restaurant was not that crowded and we got to just enjoy our time quietly with each other. After dinner we debated doing something else, like a movie, but since it was getting late and he had work we just decided to extend our anniversary celebration another day and see a movie the next evening. We ended up seeing Rise of the Planet of the Apes (I'll write a review of it soon) and had a blast.
So here are some pics of the outfit I wore for dinner. The pants were so long! I was wearing major heels and the pants still hit the floor. But I liked the overall look.

In other news, I finally got a new job!! I'm working at Mayo Clinic and so far I love it! I've been trying to get pics of my work outfits but I go to the gym in the mornings and then come home, rush to get dressed and race to work. But we'll see I might have to make time for it.

Well, I'm headed to my uncle's house to lay by the pool and grill out and then I might go with the boyfriend to watch his beloved Michigan football team at Buffalo Wild Wings. We'll see though (you know how I feel about football) but wings do sound good...hmm decisions decisions. I'll let you know! Have a great Saturday!!

Lots of love,
